SIGN ON!
Despite the Corona pandemic, we remain determined to get Pommern shipshape in time for the celebration of Åland’s centenary (Åland 100) and for Tall Ships Races Mariehamn 2021. But to get there, we need your help. One way of helping us is to donate to the Åland Maritime Museum Trust’s current campaign “Sign on!”. In return for your donation you will receive a beautiful muster certificate and your name included in the new Pommern muster roll.
You can choose your own position; apprentice (25 €), able seaman (100 €), sailmaker (250 €) or master (1 000 €). For each donation your name will be added to the muster roll. It’s even possible to upgrade; for example, after having signed on four times as apprentice, you can ask to be upgraded to able seaman – free of charge. The same principle works on all positions. It goes without saying that you can give a signing-on as a gift to someone else.
The campaign will run till the end of 2020. After that, we will print the muster roll, which will be available for browsing at the Åland Maritime Museum.
The Åland Maritime Museum Trust is a non-profitable organisation. Our operations are mainly funded by income from tickets sales, shop revenue, event bookings and venue hire.
After a successful season 2019, with Pommern in her bespoke dock and the new visitor experience open to the public, we were looking forward to an even better 2020, including the opening of a thought-provoking temporary exhibition and a film on board Pommern. However, things don’t always go to plan, and just like everyone else, we are affected by the Corona pandemic and the restrictions it has brought in its wake. Four our part, it’s mainly that we lose out on a large part of the income we need for running our museum and ship. Because of that, your donation is more important than ever. Thank you!
