On a voyage with Ruby the ship's rat
A visit on Pommern is fun for the whole family. On weather deck the children get to follow in the pawprints of Ruby the ship's rat. Ruby knows the ship better than anyone else and she can reveal all the secrets aboard. But hush...don't tell the grown-ups!
Find out all the secrets on board
How does a ship’s rat experience a round-the-world voyage on a tall ship? Can a rat have secrets that the rest of the crew don’t know about? Yup – if you trust the children’s guide, Ruby the ship’s rat, who shows the kids around the weather deck on Pommern.
The soundtrack “Rubys voyage” is about 25 minutes long and recommended for children 5-12 years and for all who are curious about Pommern’s secrets.
Give it a go on tween deck
On tween deck you participate in work and leisure aboard and try out how it is to be a sailor on Pommern. Here you learn more about provisioning and sail making, about the equatorial baptism as well as celebrate Pommern’s arrival in London with dancing on deck. The eight different stations consist of both digital games and hands-on activities.
A ship for everyone
To visit the ship all visitors will cross the bridge from the museum’s terrace. The bridge leads down on deck via a staircase and a lift. This means that it will be easy to come onboard with a stroller. It is also easy to move around the ship with a stroller and there is a lift between the decks.
Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. The ship is surrounded by water and there are many exciting but risky places that are best explored together with an adult.
